TSONJIN BOLDOG
It is located 55
km from Ulaanbaatar and one of the biggest advantages of the projects that was
being implemented by Jenco Tour company. The Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue,
part of the Genghis Khan Statue Complex is a 40-metre (130 ft) tall statue of
Genghis Khanon horseback, on the bank of the Tuul River at Tsonjin Boldog (54
km (33.55 mi) east of the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar), where according to
legend, he found a golden whip. The statue is symbolically pointed east towards
his birthplace. It is on top of the Genghis Khan Statue Complex, a visitor
centre, itself 10 metres (33 ft) tall, with 36 columns representing the 36
khans from Genghis to Ligdan Khan. It was designed by sculptor D. Erdenebileg
and architect J. Enkhjargal and erected in 2008. Visitors walk to the head of
the horse through its chest and neck, where they have a panoramic view.
The visitors
will walk to the head of the horse through chest and back neck of the horse,
where they can have farseeing and good panorama view over the complex area. The
main area will be surrounded by “ger” camp, designed and arranged like the
pattern of the horse seal that were used by the 13th century Mongol tribes. In
these “ger” camps tourists can have a night out at this spot. Also, there is
attractive and newly opened museums, Military equipments of ancient Hunnu
people (Huns) and Great Mongolian State. The ticket price already included the
both Museums.
KHENTII AIMAG
At present
Hentii aimag has 20 soums and 3 towns with more than 70 thousand populationin
total. The ethnic groups Khalkh and Buryad live in this locality. The territory
of the aimag extends over 80 thousand square kilometers. The aimag
administrative centre is Underkhaan, which is ideally located as a gateway to
the Eastern Mongolia.
Khan
Khentii protected area: covers 1.2 million ha of the rugged Khentii mountains
with several peaks over 2,000 m 70 rivers of various sizes including the three
large ones, the Tuul, Onon and Kherlen feed from numerous springs of the Khentii
range. The peak of Tsogt Chandmani at the end of the Khentii Mountain Range is
the world watershed of three huge drainage basins: the Arctic Ocean, Pacific
Ocean and the Inland Basin of Central Asia
Location
: Khentii Aimag is located at the valley of Kherlen, Onon, and Ulz rivers. It
contains almost all of the Khentii Mountain area, which is at the north
latitude 46 to 49 degrees, and the east longitude 108 to 113. It borders the
Dornod, Svkhbaatar, Gobisumber, Tuv, and Selenge aimags, and Russia to the
north.

Climate : Average
temperature during summer at 30~35 degrees, winter -32~-37 degrees Annual
precipitation in Khangkai Region 320mm, steppe region.
Tourist attraction sites in Khentii aimag
1.Burkhan Khaldun: Temuujin survived thanks to this mountain when he escaped from Gurvan Merged for several times in his childhood. When he arrived from the mountain he ordered to worship it for all generations. For him who was worshipper of shamanism the mountain was not only great cliffs, swamps and taiga he believed that it had sacred spirit. There fore, the shrine of Burkhan Khaldun is at the foot of it but not on the top. Because people believe that there is a burial of dignitaries so it must be kept in secret and it is forbidden to climb the mountain. Burkhan Khaldun is one of four state worshipped mountains, therefore, black emblem of national is worshipped and celebrated at the level of the nation.
2.Deluun Boldog: Deluun Boldog is a hill with a monument on the top of
it. Dadal somon. Legend says that when Chinggis qahan was born her mother was
given a spleen soup and water of the soup was taken from the east lake, thus,
east lake was given a name Deluun (Mongolian word for spleen), moreover,
Chinggis’s body was wallowe in the west lake, thus, west lake was given a name
Boldog (bulhdag-mongolian name for wallowing). Therefore, the names of east and
west lakes called together as Deluun Boldog.
3. Khukh Lake of Khan Zurkh: In 1189, Lord Chinggis became the qahan of whole Mongolia
in this place,. Thus, the round shaped ger base like stones with nearly fifteen
meters of diameters on the southern side of
the Khukh Lake of Khar zurkh are hypothesized to be the base of a palace that
could have been built for Chinggis qahan when he acceded to the throne. There
is a sentence in the 122nd chapter of “The Secret history of
Mongolia”: “Temuujin and his followers moved from there to Khukh nuur lake of
Khar Zurkh in Sengur Gorkhi Stream inside Khurelkh.”, the lake mentioned here
is one big and one small connected lakes that flow through the southern slope
of Khar Zurkh mountain which is located in the north from the center of
Tsenkhermandal somon and they are divided at the beginning of Tsenkher river’s
basin by a forested hill and flow 4 km away from each other.
4. Rashaan
khad’s settlement: Rocky part of Binder Mountain that located in the
territory of Batshireet Somon is called Binder Eruu or Rashaan Rock. Many finds
such as tools that belong to Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic Stone Ages,
deer stones that belong to Early Bronze Age and graves of Mongolians who were
living during the period of Huns and Kidan Empires. There are many paintings of
animals, humans and carvings of tribe stamps that had been used for centuries,
Arabia-Persian, Chinese, Tibetan, Mongolian scripts on the Rashaan rock. After
an excavation, it was determined that there are 4 stratums in the soil
structure.
There
is a monument with deer description on four sides and more one without
descriptions 950 m from the rock. And their size is 195:30 cm and there are 12
small and big tumuluses around the monuments
Bereeven
Monastery: This monastery
was built with granite in 1777 in the southern slope of Delgerkhan Mountain.
The monastery that once had a name Khalkh’s Ar Utai Gumben was demolished
during the great political repression of Mongolia and today a small monastery
is on the base of it. Also, there is Buddha Manzushir on the 2:3 in stone that
is in the southeast of the monastery.
6. Oglogch’s Wall: There are
stones walls that are built punctiliously without using clay in the mouth of
Daichin Mountain, covered with pine and larch forests and located in the
confluence of Bayan and Oglogch
rivers, which are in the west of Batshireet Somon center. These walls are
called Oglogch Kherem. Width of these walls is nearly 3m and there are tracks
of two gates in the wall and remains of embarks inside the walls. The remains
of wall stones can be seen clearly in the southeastern and eastern walls but
not in other walls because they are almost disappeared. Thickness of the wall
is 2 m, heights are 2.5-4.5 m in average and 3.1 m in highest parts. Locals
call a lanky rocky cliff inside the wall as a horse rope of Chinggis qahan.
There are no remains of buildings in the wall but flat terraces, thus, it could
be archers’ fortification of the 12-13th century.
DELGERKHAAN
SOUM
Delgerkhaan (Mongolian: Дэлгэрхаан) is a soum (district) of Kentii province in Eastern Mongolia. Avraga Toson resort is 4 km west of the Delgerkhaan sum
center. Kherlenbayan-Ulaan
settlement is 38 km west of the
Delgerkhaan sum center.
1. AVRAGA SPRING AND TOSON LAKE
Avarga Toson is composed of two sites: Lake Toson and
Avarga springs. The whole is located Northwest sum of Delgerkhaan, in the
province of Khentii, 1300 metres (4265 feet) above sea level.
Lake Toson stretches on 300
metres (984 feet) long and 250 metres (820 feet) wide. The water comes from an
underground cold source, rich in minerals notably carbonate. The mud on the
banks of the lake has the same composition as the mineral water of the lake.
The whole is renowned for its therapeutic values, notably for dermatological
and cardiovascular diseases.
Avarga is a cold spring located
11 kilometres (6,84 miles) Lake Toson, Northwest Mount Kherlen - Toono, in the
Avarga Valley. The water is very rich in minerals too and is recommended for
digestive system diseases.
Near the source, you can also see
the ruins of Genghis Khan's Aurig Palace. The whole complex is protected
since 1998.
KHERLEN KHUDUU ARAL
Kherlen’s
Khuduu Aral: A steppe with size of 600 km2 in the
Kherlen Bay is located in the south of Kherlenbayan Ulaan Mountain. The
Conqueror Chinggis qahan Great Aurag Mansion was on the bank of Avarga River of
this steppe. In this historical place, ‘The Secret Bureau of Mongolia”, which
is a great fact of Mongolian history, was written. Therefore, a monument for
this historical fact’s 750th Anniversary was erected in 1990.
Also, this place was recorded as a national resource.
KHERLEN
RIVER
Kherlen River (Chinese: 克鲁伦河) is a river of 1,254 km length in Mongolia and China.The river has its
origin in the south slopes of the Khentii mountains, near the Burkhan Khaldun mountain in the Khan
Khentii Strictly Protected Area, about 180 km northeast
of Ulaanbaatar. This area is the
watershed between the arctic (Tuul River) and
pacific (Kherlen, Onon) basins and
named Three river basins.
From there the Kherlen flows in a
mostly eastern direction through the Khentii aimag. On its further way it
crosses the eastern Mongolian steppe past Ulaan
Ereg and Choibalsan, entering China at 48°3′N 115°36′E, emptying into Hulun Nuur after another
164 km. Kherlen River -
1,090 kilometres.
GORKHI-TERELJ
NATIONAL PARK
Gorkhi-Terelj
National Park is one of the
national parks of Mongolia. Ulaanbaatar by a paved road (main road to the East #A0501 Baganuur-Öndörkhaan direction, 37 km from Ulaanbaatar city center, left turn to the branch #A24, 5 km
later road crosses Tuul River and the
National park territory begins). The road comes to the Gorkhiin Davaa (Mongolian: Горхийн даваа)
pass. Most of the tourist camps and tourist attractions are before this pass.
The Terelj settlement is located in the valley of the Terelj River (Terelj Gol), approximately 66 km
from the Ulaanbaatar city
center. The national park tourist zone is formally in Nalaikh düüreg (district) part of
Ulaanbaatar municipality, the rest of the protected zone beginning to the north
of the Terelj River, is located in Mongolia's Töv
Province (Töv aimag). Park
wildlife includes brown bears and over 250 species of birds.

Terelj
National Park Natural landscape – is colorful and with magnificent alpine
scenery. The National Park area is very impressive, with massive rock
formations set among scenic valleys and hills with a winding river and groves
of trees. Travelers can take leisurely strolls on meadows carpeted with variety
of wild flowers, view fascinating rock formations against a backdrop of
pine-covered mountains and wander along the wooded banks of a mountain stream.

Turtle
Rock – The symbol of Terelj National Park is 24 meter high, giant rock
formation like a lying turtle. You will take a photo of rock and relaxing for a
while in the shade of this giant turtle before to start for hiking towards
Ariyabal meditation temple.
3.
Ariyabal
Meditation Temple – was built in 1998-2004, because of its “Natural
Energy”. It is located on a steep hill. The shape of temple is an elephants
head and the set of 108 stairs leading up to the temple symbolizes the
elephant’s elongated trunk. Due to reach there you will cross the “Bridge of
Heaven” and 108 stone stairs will lead you to the main temple and see 108 small
stupas and 108 prayer wheels were placed around the temple.
